Glenohumeral Internal Rotation Deficit (GIRD) Project


You have been asked to take part in a research study because you are an overhead throwing athlete who has been diagnosed with a condition known as glenohumeral internal rotation deficit (GIRD).  The condition is common in throwing athletes and is characterized by a limited amount of internal rotation in your throwing shoulder.  The purpose of this research study is to compare shoulder motion in athletes with GIRD to athletes with a normal amount of internal shoulder rotation.
